Clinical Trials Begin Of Cancer Vaccine Which Will Cure/Defend Against NINETY PERCENT Of Cancers

Good news everyone! They are beginning clinical trials of an amazing new form of cancer treatment which will not only protect against 90% of all cancers but will be able to treat it too!  The company is an Israeli company called Vaxil Biotherapeutics and they are developing a revolutionary new treatment for cancer called ImMucin. They wrote a paper about it available here: “ImMucin: a novel therapeutic vaccine with promiscuous MHC binding for the treatment of MUC1-expressing tumors.”

This is huge news to the entire human race especially those of you, like me, who have been directly affected by cancer. My dad passed away from cancer when I was in my early 20’s and it isn’t a fate I wish for anyone.

The gist of this whole thing is available in a video that Vaxil Biotherapies put online which I have embedded below. In the video the say that that ImMucin, as it is called, is a new type of drug called a ‘therapeutic vaccine‘. A therapeutic vaccine harnesses the power of the body’s immune system to fight cancer. It does this by teaching the body’s immune system to attack the ‘bad’ cancer cells — while the good healthy cells are left untouched. This is different from most other forms of cancer treatment which we have today which involve radiation or cutting – both of those end up targeting/affecting good and healthy cells.

If all goes well, as they say in the video above, ImMucin could be on the market by 2017! If that happens, then the scene in ‘Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home’ where Kirk and McCoy are in the hospital”s elevator listening to two 198o’s doctors won’t be so far off! “Sounds like the goddamn Spanish Inquisition to me!” McCoy says (start watching at 29 seconds in).

That 90% number also includes Prostate Cancer which is the focus of Movember and which I am trying to raise money for – as you know. So this news couldn’t come at a more fitting time.

Wonders Of 21st Century Technology: Deaf Woman Hears For First Time!

September 30, 2011 2 comments

I saw this video earlier today via my friend Daniel Bader (on Twitter he’s @dbader) and thought it was just so amazing I had to share it with you folks.

According to the description of the video bleow – uploaded to YouTube by the woman in the video – she was born deaf and 8 weeks before the upload date of September 26, 2011 she received an Esteem hearing implant made by Envoy Medical.

The video I attached below and am describing is of them turning it on and the lady – sloanchurman on YouTube – hearing herself for the first time 🙂

There are some discrepancies in the video such as her claim to be 29 years old and her YouTube profile says she is 31. As well, she claims to be deaf from birth but in general I have found that people who are deaf from birth don’t speak like people with proper hearing. Something to do with them never hearing their own voices and knowing how to modulate and tone it properly. However, this woman sounds pretty normal when she speaks in the video. At the same time, I don’t know anything about her condition (is legally deaf different from “really deaf”?) so I am not going to judge.

Either way, this video is freaking cool. I hope it put a smile on your face like it did mine.
